Volunteers are our greatest asset and are at the heart of all that happens in Bude New Life Centre. We greatly value the time, effort and commitment they put into the Life Centre.
If you have time and would like to use your skills or develop new skills, why not consider becoming a volunteer? Training is provided and times are flexible to suit you.
Volunteers work in:
Bude Foodbank Cooking Catering Reception
Adult Projects Publicity Cleaning Money Coaching
Youth and Children's Projects Maintenance
Main areas of need are:
Cleaning - this is a great building and we like to keep it spick and span so if you get a buzz cleaning we would love you to join us for a few hours each week.
Foodbank and Drop-in - Do you have good listening skills? Would you like to help those in need? We need volunteers who can help to pack food parcels and engage with foodbank clients. And also chat to clients in Refuel between 10.30 and 1.30 Monday to Friday.
Admin - If you have some IT knowledge and are able to answer the phone and have a friendly and open approach then we could use your skills in our reception. Morning or afternoon Monday to Friday.
Money Adviser - If you are numerate, able to organise paperwork and have a heart to help those who are in financial crisis, we are currently looking for volunteers who are willing to train to become a money adviser.
Many volunteers use their time with BNLC to enhance their CV and job prospects. Others simply have time and a desire to serve their community. All volunteers become part of a great team that is highly valued. We are needing new volunteers because several of our volunteers have recently moved on into full time employment and higher education after their time at BNLC.
Accreditation for volunteering hours can be achieved through East Cornwall Volunteers.
Young volunteers are also welcome to apply for school holiday opportunities.
